A Red Flag Warning will go into effect at 11am for portions of Eastern Oregon, the southwest Highlands, Vale and Burns BLM land as well as portions of southern Twin Falls County through midnight.
Critical fire weather conditions are expected with wind gusts up to 60mph possible and scattered lightning is expected, meaning that if fire does start, it could spread quickly.
This is all due to a storm system that is bringing chances of precipitation and thunderstorms.
With the hot and dry conditions in place already and scattered thunderstorms moving back into the area, there is a good chance of extending this Red Flag Warning into Tuesday.
