A “dangerous” and long-duration heat wave is building across the West through much of this week.

The heat will move into our region today with potentially record breaking heat for the Treasure Valley Monday.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect through Tuesday evening at 9pm with dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 105 degrees for portions of the Treasure Valley.

If you are looking to escape this heat, the mountains will see highs in the low to mid 90s through this period.

It might be a good idea to check on your loved ones, neighbors and elderly folks to make sure they are staying hydrated and cool.
