On Saturday night (July 2) in Gilford, N.H., an audience member at Keith Urban’s concert got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play Keith’s guitar onstage.
During his concert, Keith took a moment to talk to the audience in between songs. As he looked out into the crowd, a sign caught his eye and he invited the lucky fan, Rob, onstage.
“You want to play my guitar?” Keith said from the stage to a young couple in the audience. “You’re sign says ‘It’s my boyfriends birthday.’ You’re pointing to him. Do you play guitar?” Keith asked the young man. “This would be the night to do it . . . Come up here brother.”
Rob joined Keith onstage and chatted with the superstar, before his girlfriend, Lex, told Keith “He could be your backup guitarist.”
“Really? said Keith. “My backup guitarist, no pressure.”
“It’s me dream job,” said Rob.
Keith handed over his vintage Fender guitar and the two launched into Keith’s “Good Thing” with Rob playing lead.
